About

We build classrooms that say yes to “why?”

Somewhere right now, a four-year-old is asking why the moon follows the car. What happens next matters more than most people think.

In the early years, a child’s brain builds more of its architecture than at any other point in life. It is the most extraordinary window in human development, and too often it is filled with worksheets instead of wonder. Curio exists to change that.

Not a box of books. A living system.

Curio is a complete, NEP 2020 and NCF 2023-aligned ecosystem — curriculum, teacher training, digital tools and year-round mentorship — built into the everyday rhythm of your school, from Toddlers to Grade 2.

Empowered teachers create empowered classrooms. Everything we build starts there.

Our Story

It began at the back of a classroom.

Before Curio had a name, it had a question.

Charu Vermani was an academician who spent years quietly observing classrooms. Again and again she saw the same thing: children who could recite every answer, but couldn’t explain a single one. Teachers who cared enormously, but had never been given the tools to teach any other way.

It was never one big failure. It was a thousand tiny ones, adding up, year after year, child after child.

She carried that question for most of a decade. The answer was never unclear; building it properly took time. What she built was Curio: a curriculum designed around curiosity instead of memory, made to be lived in a classroom rather than left on a shelf.

Meet Our Founder

Charu Vermani · Founder & Managing Director

Allergic to “that’s how it’s always been done.”

Charu Vermani has spent her career refusing to accept ‘that’s how it’s always been done’ as a sufficient answer. Certified by Dale Carnegie and the Quality Council of India, and trusted as a consultant to the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms programme, she has spent well over a decade designing experiential, inquiry-led learning frameworks that now shape classrooms across the country.

What sets her apart is not the string of credentials, but the instinct behind them: an academician’s eye for what’s actually happening in a classroom, paired with an entrepreneur’s resolve to fix it at scale. She continues to mentor schools and education ventures nationwide — still guided, after all these years, by the same conviction that started Curio: empowered teachers lead to empowered classrooms.
